Frequently Asked Questions - will be updated regularly
Q. I'd like to enter a class submission but plan to run a preliminary competition within the class first in order to select the entry for your competition. Is this possible and if so, how do I complete the forms?
A. Yes, you can enter a class sumbission and then change the registration details later. We suggest that you firstly complete the registration form with your name (teachers name) and contact details but enter the submission name as “XYZ School – Year 6 entry” or something similar.
Once you’ve selected your finalist send an email to GameCompetition@IQideas.com with the name of the individual or group who has won and we’ll change the submission name to “XYZ School – Jane Smith”, or “XYZ School – Dolphins Group” to reflect the individual(s) involved.
The ‘tips and suggestions’ will be sent to the email address you provide when you complete the registration form so they can still be passed on to the class. The submission category can be changed at a later time also.
Q. I don't have a game idea yet. Can I still register for the competition?
A. Yes, in fact it might be to your advantage to enter the competition without a clear idea of what your final game idea will be. The 'tips and advice' you receive once you've registered will give you some good ideas about the sort of game you might like to design and how to best develop you idea.
